Bandung Trip~

Amongst the thing that i have been doing three months ago was travelling. I went to a trip to Bandung/Jakarta with the Puspanita Ladies in May. I know this is like a backdated post,but i just would like to share my experience with all my gentle readers..

It was a 3 days 2 nites trip and we board a rather early flight which requires us to gather at KLIA after dawn. Upon our arrival at the Saekarno Hatta International Airport in Jakarta,it is already noon and since it's friday most of the muslim guys are getting ready for their friday prayers. We lingered at the restaurant till Kamal our Supir arrived and later headed straight to Bandung.

Day 1

The journey to Bandung from Jakarta was not smooth sailing at all. Since it's The Wesak Day break everyone from Jakarta seems to have the same intention which is to spend their weekend in Bandung,so the traffic congestion was crazy. We had a few hiccups along the way that requires the bus to stop for some minor repairment. We managed to enjoy the Paddy View whilst waiting for the bus to get back on track....Due to the traffic jam and the fact that it is a long weekend we arrived in Bandung almost at 8pm and it was just about time for Dinner. We later checked in at the New Sany Rosa which is located within a walking distance to Rumah Mode, Donatella n etc....Paris Van Java Mall is also situated nearby,it is called Jalan Sukajadi which is for me looks somehow like Bangsar Area,very happening at night.

The Next day after breakfast we headed to Tangkuban Perahu, a famous tourist destination in Bandung. It is freezing cold up there and the early morning breeze is absolutely refreshing.Tangkuban Perahu is an active volcano 30 km north of the city of Bandung,the provincial capital city of West Java,Indonesia. You can also buy eggs and try to cook it on the hot surface.

Day 2

The highlight of the itinerary is definitely shopping. We went to Pasar Baru that sell stuff (material,french lace and etc,telekung,clothing,muslim clothing and more) and also later we went to the Factory Outlet. My favourite place to shop would definitely be Rumah Mode, as you can find lots of things under one roof and the price is reasonable. Due to traffic congestion we have to make a tough call whether to go to a certain places only so we ended up not covering most of the shopping outlet in Bandung.I regret tho,going to Jeans Street cause for me there's not much choice of things to buy there and frankly the shops seems a bit on the dodgy side.

The next morning, we left for Jakarta and made a pit stop at Kartika Sari a very well known Bakery store in Bandung. You are spoiled with lotsa choice of yummy pastries there and of course they are famous with Pisang Oden, and also their brownies. The cheese and Almond brownies are my favourite but personally i prefer Amanda's for the steam ones.

Day 3

It's the last night of our stay here in Jakarta, after doing some shopping at Sarinah's Department Store (the fridge magnet is cheaper there) which is located near our Hotel in Jakarta i headed back to the hotel room and had a Javanese Massage at the Hotel Room. The javanese massage which takes 2 hours is easy on the budget and furthermore i was given a nice sundanese lady as my masseuse,i discovered most of sundanese ladies are beautiful btw. One i have in mind is the Singer Rossa,she is soooo gorgeous rite...Anyways, i almost dooze off to sleep and that's a sign she's a good Masseuse. It's definitely a great thing to do to rejuvenate after the tiring day after all the shopping expenditure..hehhe

The next morning, after checking out from Ibis Hotel in Jakarta we headed to Mangga Dua,which will be the final shopping Destination for our Trip before going back to Malaysia. If you're looking for fake handbags,purses,accessories mangga dua is the place to be. If you ask me, i would rather spend longer time in Mangga Dua than in Tanah Abang....If you're looking for Muslim clothing and material to make malay attire Tanah Abang would be a great place to shop but i get bored easily and the crowded place makes me dizzy. For the young and chic Mangga dua is definitely the best place to spend your rupiah on...Just my two cents...

I had a blast during my trip to Bandung and will definitely plan on going again in future. It's definitely one of the most memorable trip i've been to and plus i found a new circle of people that i can call friends.
